As hard as I’m trying, I can’t really save money. There are always emergency expenses along the way. Now, I am officially flat broke, negative if you may. I owe money from Jie and Pen. Haha. Pathetic of me.
So, where are my moneys going? Here’s a sample:

Pen & I recently bought these 3-inch McFarlane NBA figures. They cost pretty stiff considering that they are only 3 inches. But hey, they are a work of art. Nice details on them. We can only afford these little guys and not the big ones (6-inch NBA figures). Not only that the 6-inch figures are uber expensive, they are already in Series 6 so trying to collect all of ‘em would be hard.
Yesteday, Pen bought a new bed for her new house/room. Bed+mattress+vanity drawer to be delivered on July 5. It will be a whole new world for her.
I also helped her bring some of her stuffs from LH to Hardin. It was quite a trip and we’re glad that the weather was great for walking.
Before I forgot, a little ‘Thank you’ to jie for lending me money last thrusday & also for buying Digital Fortress. I now own all 4 Dan Brown books. Wahoo!

It drained our money (Pen & me) but I think it’s worth it. No more hangups! Fast boots! Smooth PC usage for Pen.
Motherboard costs: 2,800, DDR 300 costs 2,200 & additional sevice charge of 300. That’s 5,300 all in all.

What can I say, pc parts come and go. It’s just a matter of time.
Pen told me that the RAM burned. I am hoping that what burned was the mainboard instead as I really plan to replace that erratic board in the future. Anyhow, good thing that I have spare money to buy new a new motherboard and memory. It will probably cost us around 4,500.
.Sigh.
Not that I am sighing because the board and memory died, it’s just that it’s all too sudden. Pinagtyatyagaan na nga lang ni pen yung pc eh. As a matter of fact, it was due to be replaced.
The thing is that, and I quote Pen: “unproductive ako ngayon“. Time is important and time is what we do not have right now. I am stuck at work here while the pc is there at UP and I am only free on weekends. One alternative is, I buy the parts here is PC Corner Glorietta and I will install the parts myself. But I do not have that confidence to build the pc from scratch. All I can do is add/remove minor components, but motherboard? Naah.

Here I am in my new desk. It’s a bit smaller than before and waaay far from the others’ I have known here. I am physically at the other end of the room now. This will be fine. People would not be passing by my back anymore so that they can take a peek at my monitor. Hehe.
I should be starting to learn Visual Studio by now. Visual C++, Visual C# and Visual Basic.Net.

Today marks another milestone from Yahoo! They just upgraded their email services - making the max storage equal to 100mb and the max attachment equal to 10mb. That’s a lot if you ask me. But apparently, the whisper in the net world is that they upped their services because google mail is set to launch a 1GB email storage. 1GB!! Imagine the mp3 and videos to be stored there! Now, that’s a lot!
So, I have 3 yahoo mail accounts - all active - that makes 300 mb worth of email storage space. Now, what will I do with that? Hehe
On another news, Detroit rules the NBA. The series wasn’t even close. I pity the almighty Lakers. Most especially Karl Malone, the ring still eludes him. He will retire without a ring. What a major loss for him. I do not even like Detroit (until now) but I salute them for defeating the Lakers. They obviously got the lousy side of LA while playing the series. Hindi lumabas yung laro ng Lakers eh..

- I will be moving to a new team today. Maybe sometime after lunch, I will be physically moving. This is the team/group/project I initially applied for. We will be using Visual C# for that. Come on, try me!
- I am overwhelmed with my comics collection. I am actually thinking of stopping now. No kidding. Better stop now before my addiction really sinks in. Well, I would want to finish the Superman series first. It it currently the talk of the comics world, mind you. Jim Lee rocks the comics world big time. I still would want to buy that GI Joe vs Transformers - I only got issues 2 and 6 so far (out of 6 issues). I started Identity Crisis - DC’s event of the year - but it is too costly for me.
- I got 3 Dan Brown books now. Angels & Demons, Da Vinci Code and Deception Point. 3 down, 1 to go. I am still looking for Digital Fortress. Pen bought Deception Point for me. Thanks love!
- Glenn is officially at Belgium starting this week til next week. Have fun. Bring back my digicam in one piece.

Went to Anilao last weekend. Dr. M’s hideaway to city’s fast paced routine is a wonderful place. Eventhough it was raining the whole time we were there, time to relax was a sought-after change. Unwind is the key. Time to regroup your senses you lost after 2 months in the new work place.
That blissful feeling we get once in a while you can easily attain there.
Once you are there, you literally sit back and relax.
The waves were a bit frightening that I almost did not go snorkelling. I wouldn’t let oppurtunity pass by. Nandun na rin lang, dapat makapag-snorkel ako kahit umuulan.. The sun peeked a tiny bit and told myself this is the moment I’ve been waiting for. 4 hours before we depart, I summoned all my courage and declared I would go snorkelling no matter what. Pen, Ric and Celeste eventually followed suit. Hehe. Bitin nga lang, but what the heck, at least nakapag-snorkel pa rin ako..
On a side note, Pen will be moving to a new faculty room. She will be transferring to the 2nd floor of the math building. For the uninformed, once you are transferred to the 2nd floor, you are now considered an oldie in the dept. Haha. Well, aside from being an oldie, you get another form of respect in the department. Hindi ka na hamak na instructor lamang. Angat ka sa iba.
