W was packed. Their first floor was converted into some IceBerg type of saloon (who in his right mind would put an ice cream parlor amongst a bar infested area?)
Well, what can we do but wait. Jie enlisted us and reserved a table for 5. There was another group ahead of us so waiting may take some time. Not to mention that 7:30 is just a still an “early” time. Usually, people would be coming by this time NOT leaving.
“Lipat kaya tayo?”, Jie ask to no one in particular.
“San pa ba merong mura?”, Glenn answered.
“Hanap na lang tayo.”
“Intay na lang tayo ng konti.”
We stood there waiting for a group to head home. We looked like a bunch of high school students wanting to go inside a strip club but the bouncer won’t let us in.
After some time, a group staying on one of the tables along the sidewalk are already leaving. But there is still one group ahead of us in the reservation list.
The receptionist called out a name from the first group.
“Sa loob na lang kami miss…” one of them said.
The receptionist then called out Jie’s name.
“Dito na lang tayo?”, Jie asked.
“OK na yan.”, I replied.
“Tara”, Glenn seconded.
It’s easy to decide with these guys.
It was not that bad sitting there along the sidewalk. You get to see a lot of passerby’s and a lot of eye candies.
We settled at our place and ordered a bucket of SanMig Light, 1 W big platter & 1 sisig.
Time to get the beer flowing so that stories would follow soon.
*sorry but I have to omit the exchange of stories we had that night. I know they would not like their biographies broadcast over the web. HINT: read between the lines in their blogs (especially Jie’s).*
After downing several beers, we decided to retire. Problem is, night is still young.
Jie paid the bill. Never even asking us to chip-in.
“Bilyar tayo”, Jie suggested.
“Tara”, Don replied.
Did I tell you how easy it is to decide with these guys? ![]()
Off we went to CableCar. 2 tables were being used while the other 2 were apparently reserved.
“Intay uli tayo.” I said.
“Sige.” Don replied
“Conorado kaya?”, Jie offered.
“Intay muna tayo sandali”, I said.
We almost left the place after waiting for sometime. I think Glenn was already out of the door when Don overheard that one of the 2 reserved tables is now free. We get to play on that table. That’s a nick-of-time moment.
We played 8-ball game. Since we were 5, one has to sit per game. I offerred to sit the first game. Glenn & Rex vs Jie & Don.
Glenn & Rex lost the match sinking only one ball. Players rotated and we played an hour of 8-ball. Jie was king of the billiards. Sinking 2-3 consecutive balls. Man, he’s definitely getting better in billiards.
It was almost 11 that we left the place. Don had to go because he will have to tutor someone the next day. I had to go because I’ll be going home with my sister.
There were plans to go to Puerto Galera during the walk towards Ayala Avenue. Let’s see if that will materialize.
