Last night was really great. We watched S.P.I.T. perform at Café Lupe.
It was a blast watching and participating throughout the whole show. Though this time I managed to control my laughter unlike last time where I can’t catch up with my breath. Haha.
One member of the SPIT group even recognized Cia and had a chat with us before the show started. Soon after, other SPIT members are already milling around our table and chatting with us. There were Joel Trinidad (the first to talk with Cia), Gabe Mercado, Tommy Alvarado & Rodel something. Cool talking with the stars of the show.
They had the usual improv routines as with UP’s performance but we get to see new ones. There was the part “Area of expertise” where one member would guess the noun & verb suggested by the audience – petunia & running respectively. The way he will have to guess it is very funny. Joel’s (the guesser) head is the only part of his body shown, all other parts is covered with a big piece of cloth. Another member, Rodel, is at his back, also completely covered with the same big cloth and only his arms are shown acting as Joel’s arms. So there, Rodel knows the words but will have to act only through his hands to give Joel some clues. Gabe on the other hand is asking goofy questions to Joel who relies with the arm gestures Rodel is trying to convey to arrive at the answer. You have to be there to see how they were able to pull it off. Nakakabilib at nakakatawa.
Of course audience participation is a must. Gerald gave out my name during the first routine (what were you thinking dude? You could have said Sherwin/Anthony/Paul/Glenn). I gave a question during the “Little miss gay philippines” portion. Pen even went on stage to join the “Alphabet game” (kaso biglang natahimik sa stage). Cia participated in the “Infomercial segment”.
I’m betting this would not be the last show we will be watching.
If you want the laugh of your life, this could be it. Watch SPIT perform!
