I don’t really know the whole story. But it seems that google is doing it’s share it promoting Mozilla Firefox.
Come on, do your share. Firefox is the way to go in the internet world. You’ll never regret the switch. I remember the first time I tried to use Firefox, it’s like saying goodbye to a trusty old pal (i.e. Internet Explorer). I mean, IE paved the way for me in this virtual world, and that I have never used Netscape - I’m a pure IE fanboy.
But when the pop-ads began to occur, hijackers & trojans follow suit. Then came spywares and worms. All exploiting IE’s holes (that, up to this point, still exist albeit smaller holes now). You will just be surprised that a dialer was installed on your machine for a minute of hot-loving-action. I gave up on IE at the time Firefox is still a budding browser - then named as Firebird. I never looked back.
Firefox features:
Plugins: as they say, you can have a lean & mean Firefox up and running with only 4mb installer. I have mine customized according to my needs. I have a tab extension plugin, cookie manager and a download manager plugin.
Skin: Dress up your own Firefox. I always loved the theming/skinning concept. It boasts your personality to the one looking over your shoulder.
Tabbrowsing: This for me killed IE (aside from the security concerns of IE). Tabbrowsing is cool.
