I can now buy Christmas goodies at SM! Now, if I only have time. Maybe I’ll just give it to Mom and let her take care of our stuffs.

Nope, wasn’t able to hear mass this early morning. I was spent last night from Math’s xmas party. I wasn’t drunk. Really. I just wanted to sleep a little bit longer.
Just like Jie, am beginning to feel the christmas season now. 
Official time-in today: 6:24am.
Earliest arrival here in office. I figured with the early time-in, I can escape early. Hehe.
Also, tonight is Math’s xmas Party. I got invited by no less than the Department Chair himself. I definitely would like to go and with Ric telling me that we have gifts from Dr.M, the more excited I am now. If I’m not mistaken, this is the third Christmas in a row that we received gifts from Dr.M. Last Christmas we got the whole Season1-3 DVDs of Sopranos. I wonder what we’ll be receiving today.
Speaking of Christmas gifts, I haven’t done any Christmas shopping this year. Zilch. Nada. I definitely hate to go alone and give myself serious headaches just for thinking specific gifts to the people I would give gifts. I’ll pass this year.
For Pen? Call me lazy, pathetic or unromantic, but I already bought her christmas gift last September. And for my defense, that gift is a should buy that time, if not, I will not be able to buy or even more, see it again. *wink*

Most of you may already know that I am into toy & comics collection. I am not really a hardcore toy collector; I just buy what is available in the malls. I never bought, so far, in those greedy specialty toy stores. As for the comics, I think this is just a phase in me this year. I started with Jim Lee’s Superman last April and would want to stop there. 
I was able to follow some pretty nice storylines since last April but I think that’s it. It will be either stop now altogether or be completely sucked-in in comics world.
I promised from my last post that I will showcase my toy collection, so here it is. 
. As of today, I have 14 never-been-opened toys. Click on the image for a bigger rendition. From topleft to bottomright, let’s have a rollcall… Cable, Brown Wolverine, Beast, Colossus, Sabretooth, Deadpool, Punisher, Juggernaut, Gambit, WeaponX Wolverine, SpiderMan, Storm, Iceman & Stealth IronMan. I already opened 4 pieces (not in the picture obviously) - Yellow Wolverine, Captain America, Magneto & GhostRider. Each piece comes with a bonus comics inside. I was very fortunate that my Deadpool, Juggernaut, Brown Wolverine & Cable has 4 comics. I later found out that their batch was a misshipment intended for Europe. That was really a lucky day when I bought those 4. Let me try to discuss each of them below…
This is the first time that I will be posting in my inflection here at home.
I just replaced my cranky motorola internal modem with a DLink internal modem. Haven’t noticed any big change so far. I got a nasty 16.8kbps in this free account courtesy of my sister. ü So far, I am just tweaking my Firefox settings here at home. I downloaded the Noia Theme and the TabBrowser Extension.
After buying the modem at PCCorner branch in Glorietta, I chanced upon the Series 8 of Marvel Legends. I saw the whole line except for the chase figure being sold at an exorbitant price already. Those greedy specialty stores bastards are already selling the toys the day after it came here in the country. What do you expect next? When I looked for the toys at the regular toy stores, only the so-so figures are left. Good thing I found Storm and Iceman still available.
I grabbed the Storm and the Iceman figure and hesitated for the Ultimate IronMan figure. My principle in buying these toys is buy only the characters I like. That way, I will have no regrets in buying something I don’t really like.
So, when I reached home, I got myself 2 toys and 1 modem. No regrets.
And hey, some updates regarding Pen…
As of this writing, she is already in Asian Medical Hospital. She will have the operation tomorrow morning at around 6.30am. I already told her that I’ll be coming over the next day (Sunday) together with some friends. By the time you will be reading this Pen, you will be probably at home enjoying your extended holiday break. Take a lot of rest and just take it easy. We are all praying for your speedy recovery.

It felt like a breeze.
In just a little over 2 weeks, it will be Christmas day. This Christmas will be a little different from my previous Holidays. For one, this will be the first time that I will not be having a long holiday break. Dati, Dec16 pa lang halos wala nang pasok, ngayon 24 at 25 lang talaga ang walang pasok. Nataon pang Sabado at Linggo yun. Oh well, that’s corporate life for you.
Another thing that will be missed this holiday season is UP’s annual Lantern Parade. You heard the saying that you will only value something when you lost it? That’s the exact feeling I have now. In my almost 9 years in UP, I think I only watched the Lantern Parade 3-4 times - most of which when I was already in graduate class. I honestly regret not being able to watch all those parades when I was in UP. Now, it’s difficult to sqeeze it in my schedule not to mention the trouble of actually getting inside UP. Sigh.
And of course, on a relatively sad note, probably the first holiday season that Pen and I are not be able to go out. I think last 4-5 Christmases, we usually go out during a Wednesday to go to Greenhills to buy our Christmas presents for our friends. And during my birthday, we see to it that we go out and do anything because we can’t watch a movie - it’s the Metro Manila Filmfest Festival every year during my bday. This year, it will be different as Pen is still on an extended rest period. I still have no idea what we can do this time.
Christmas is not only for kids but also for us young at hearts. Let’s all have fun and do take time to relax this year.
Incidentally, Pen will be admitted tonight at Asian Medical Hospital in preparation for her surgery tomorrow. We ask for your prayers for her successful operation tomorrow. To those who would want to visit her, I guess the best time would be on Sunday as Pen will probably be in total rest after her surgery tomorrow. We expect a huge crowd by then so please understand. ü

I really don’t know if I have the go signal to post the news here but then again, there is absolutely no way that you my friends will find out.
Pen will be undergoing surgery this Friday or Saturday. Apparently a cyst grew somewhere within her uterus area. The surgery is called myomectomy. Some of you may have seen her succumb to pain during her monthly cycle and we just found out that the cyst is causing the pain.
So, she will be confined in Asian Medical Hospital in Alabang starting Friday night. I think the surgery will be done on Saturday. She will have to stay there until Monday or Tuesday. Then homerest til the end of the year. No more work for her this December but she’s at the office today (Dec 6). And yes, no more gimiks with you guys. All planned gimiks and parties will have to be cancelled. Probably by Rheena & John’s and Cia & Ferdie’s wedding everything will be back to normal.
