Yes. Finally, it’s official.
I’ll be moving to janep from here onwards.
I’m gonna miss this points of inflections blog of mine. I already have this archived over at silverh.janep.org in case ePinoy cannot sustain it’s free service.
JANEP will be a collaborative blog from me and pen.
Have your bookmarks changed and point it to http://www.janep.org instead.
Please take a quick look. ![]()
I’m riding the wave of gravatar fad today.
I haven’t fully implemented the gravatar in my comments posts and I still have to customize much of it. Check it out later when you leave a comment.
So what is a gravatar? Gravatar is Globally Recognized Avatar.
Simply put: When you leave a comment on a weblog and provide your email address, the weblog can use your email address to look up your avatar. Since the collection is available to anyone, a single avatar image can represent you across many different weblogs.
Register an account today. All you need is an email address and a small square picture. ![]()
(this is a sticky post, continue reading after this entry for the newer posts)
Might as well post it here rather than in the comments section from the previous blog post…
I finally put up my own site. Bought a domain name and (semi) launched the site. It was just a matter of timing and an apt domain name. I really wanted to launch the site today as it is a special day for us. ![]()
Give your initial impressions here folks.
Look what I found…

After Louis Leithold, another famous mathematician died this year.
George Dantzig, the inventor of the Simplex method for solving Linear Programming problems, died on May 13. He was also the now-legendary student who turned in solutions for what he had taken to be a homework assignment, only to find out they had been posted as examples of what were suspected to be unsolvable problems.
The story goes like this:
George Danzig, while studying in college, was bored by his math classes. He walked up to the professor and said, “My classes are too easy!” The professor looked at him, and said, “Well, I’m sure you’ll find this interesting.” Then the professor copied 9 problems from a book to a paper and gave the paper to Danzig. A month later, the professor ran into Danzig, “So how are you doing with the problems I gave you?” “Oh, they are very hard. I only managed to solve 6 of them.” The professor was visibly shocked, “What!? But those are unsolved problems!”
Many of you guys reading this will not know Dantzig but he’s one of the movers in the Operations Research field and somehow put me to where I am now.
Rest in pease Mr. Dantzig.
I know it’s a huge film but to wait in line for 5 months to see it is overkill. I do like the StarWars concept and even bought the enhanced DVD version of the 4-5-6 films plus the bonus disc (albeit pirated copies only).
I did liked the Phantom Menace but no so much with Attack of the Clones. I have yet to see the movie one of these days. It’s the current buzz topic in the internet, bus/mrt/jeep rides, malls and virtually everywhere since last week. StarWars geeks constantly talking about their excitement for this last film. Casual movie goer would want to see the film because everybody is talking about it even though they know nothing of the film. The hype is monstrous. Good thing that I’m not into TV watching nowadays and even newspaper reading so less information overload for me.
